An Open Invitation:  Find Out if Your Food is Safe

GREAT FALLS, MT (Nov. 6, 2006) – Jeffrey M. Smith, author of the best selling book “Seeds of Deception,” will speak in Montana during November and December.  Smith is a leading spokesperson on genetically modified (GM) foods and the controversies surrounding them.  While much of Europe has restricted the raising, distributing or importing of genetically modified foods, the United States has allowed their broad spread without much debate or research.  Smith’s investigative reporting explores how genetically modified organisms were introduced into our daily diet, and discusses possible courses of action.

Smith has traveled in 25 countries on six continents briefing world leaders and the public, and has reached well over 100 million people through hundreds of media interviews.  Smith is the director of the Institute for Responsible Technology, and has also served on numerous boards and worked with non-profit and political groups on the genetic engineering issue for a decade.

Smith’s Montana speaking engagements include:

November 28:  Great Falls, MSU-College of Technology, 7:00 pm

November 29:  Bozeman, Emerson Lecture Room, 7:00 pm

November 30:  Missoula, Univ. of Montana, No. Underground Lecture Hall, 7:00 pm

December 1:  Pablo, Salish Kootenai College, Room TBA, 2:00 pm

December 2:  Missoula, MT Organic Assoc. Annual Conf., Hilton Gardens, 1:00 pm

The sponsors of this public event are pleased to bring a researcher, writer and lecturer of Smith’s reputation to Montana to speak about a topic that affects everyone:  nutritious, safe food.  All lectures are free.
