National Farmers Union President Tom Buis, as chair of the National Farmers Union PAC (NATFARMPAC), may endorse candidates for national office.

Please note that Montana Farmers Union DOES NOT, and has never, endorsed political candidates for office.  This is an important distinction between Montana Farmers Union and our National office.  Any reference of endorsement of candidates must be clearly attributed to the National Farmers Union PAC.

Montana Farmers Union policy is very specific when it comes to political education and action; and it is stated as follows:

“ARTICLE 9

State Union

Section 1 – General

A.  The Montana Farmers Union shall remain politically nonpartisan.  The Montana Farmers Union shall not endorse candidates for partisan political office.  No director, officer or employee of a State, County or Local Union shall use the name of Montana Farmers Union or his/her position in endorsing any candidates for partisan political office.”
