Montana Farmers Union Scholarship Recipients Announced

GREAT FALLS, MT (July 27, 2010) — The Montana Farmers Union (MFU) recently awarded six $500 scholarships to high school seniors and current college students to further their education. Recipients were judged on scholastic achievement, school, community and Farmers Union involvement.

Receiving the Montana Farmers Union scholarship, awarded to graduating seniors, were Kali Gunderson, Power; and Susanna Siroky, Roy. Gunderson is the daughter of Gary and Debby Gunderson. Siroky is the daughter of Ken and Clara Nell Siroky.

Scott Drga, Big Sandy, received the Chouteau County Farmers Union scholarship, which is awarded to a graduating senior. Drga is the son of Jim and Marla Drga.

Receiving the Bud Daniels Memorial Scholarship was Kevin Tweten, Nashua. This scholarship is for students who are sophomores or above attending a Montana higher education facility. Tweten is the son of Jim and Ella Tweten.

The John Korsbeck Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students of any age furthering their education in Montana. Recipients this year are John Kelly, Chester, son of Ed and Charlotte Kelly; and Kristie Rutledge, Big Sandy. Kelly is working toward a chemistry degree at Montana Tech; Rutledge is a teacher working toward becoming a certified school psychologist.

The Angus & Ruth Merrill Merit Scholarships were available this year to any student desiring to further their education. Recipients are Kent Liston, Great Falls, son of Jeff and Alice Liston; Libby Madison, Great Falls, daughter of Larry Madison; Josh Jenkins, Dutton, son of Amanda Doheny; and Julia Standley, Cascade, daughter of September Cope and Blake Standley.
